Today’s Commemorated Feasts and Saints: 33rd Sunday after Pentecost; Forefeast of the Meeting of Christ in the Temple; Sunday of Zacchaeus; and Feast of St. Bridget of Kildare in Ireland

TROPARION FOR THE RESURRECTION- TONE 8
You descended from on high, O Merciful One. You accepted the three day burial to free us from our sufferings. O Lord, our Life and Resurrection, glory to You!
TROPARION FOR THE FORE-FEAST OF THE MEETING- TONE 1
The celestial choir of heavenly angels bends down to the earth and sees the First-born of all creation being carried into the Temple as a babe by a Mother who has not known man, and in amazement sings with us a pre-festal hymn.
TROPARION FOR ST. BRIDGET OF KILDARE- TONE 4
Instructed by the discourse of the holy Patrick, you did arrive at the uttermost west, heralding the Orient which hath visited us from on high. Wherefore, we bless you, O venerable mother Bridget, and cru out to you: “ Pray on behalf of our souls!”
KONTAKION FOR THE RESURRECTION- TONE 8
By rising from the tomb, You raised the dead and resurrected Adam. Eve exults in Your Resurrection, and the world celebrates Your rising from the dead, O greatly Merciful One!
KONTAKION FOR ST. BRIDGET OF KILDARE- TONE 6
Rejecting your noble rank and loving the godly monastic life, from the wood of the oak you did raise up a convent, the first in your land; and having there united a multitude of nuns to God, you did teach the surrounding lands to cry to the Lord: “ Have mercy on us!”
KONTAKION FOR THE FOREFEAST OF THE MEETING- TONE 6
The Word unseen with the Father, now is seen in the flesh, ineffably born of the Virgin, and is given into the arms of the priest and Elder. Let us worship Him, our True God.

PROKEIMENON- TONE 8
Pray and make your vows before the Lord our God!
V: In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel.
Pray and make your vows before the Lord our God!

TODAY’S EPISTLE READING IS FROM THE FIRST EPISTLE OF ST. PAUL TO TIMOTHY 4:9-15
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. These things command and teach.
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.

TODAY’S GOSPEL READING IS FROM ST. LUKE 19:1-10
Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.
And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “ Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “ He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”
Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “ Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “ Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

We welcome all who are worshiping with us this morning. We invite everyone to join us for Coffee Hour following Divine Liturgy, provided this morning by Rich and Brenda Minto, with all proceeds to benefit our Church.
Please continue to pray for all our parish shut-ins and all those who are unable to be with us this morning. If anyone needs Father Paisius for any reason, please call him at 724-287-4448 or 724-549-6651(cell).

We pray that the Lord our God will bless your service and that of all member of our Executive Board in the coming year. This morning after the Ambon Prayer, we will conduct the swearing in of our Parish Executive Board.
We also take this opportunity to offer our heart-felt thanks and appreciation to George Pawluk, Rob Prokopchak and Alex Shott as they have completed their terms of office on our Executive Board. Many thanks for all your hard work in fulfilling the responsibilities of your office. MANY THANKS!
This morning we as a parish wish to extend best wishes and congratulations to Hope Burka as she celebrates her birthday this week on Tuesday, February 2. MAY THE LORD OUR GOD GRANT UNTO HIS SERVANT, HOPE, MANY MORE BLESSED AND HAPPY YEARS!
This week on Friday and Saturday, February 6-7, Father Paisius will be on the road in Ohio. If any emergencies arise over those two days, please call Fr. Joseph Wargo at 724-991-0911. Father Paisius will be back on Saturday evening.
We offer our many thanks to all who came out to help with our Pirohi Sale this week on Thursday and Friday. It was wonderful to once again gather together to work and fellowship together for the good of our Parish in this way. Our next Pirohi Sale will be Thursday- Friday, January 12/13 and we again invite everyone to come and help us with this important part of our parish life.
We again encourage everyone to take home some of the blessed water we have available from our celebration of the Feast of Theophany. We pray that this water which has been blessed by the Holy Spirit may be for the health and salvation of all.
We offer a reminder again that Father Paisius is available for home blessings until the end of February or the beginning of Great Lent. This is a wonderful and traditional aspect of our celebration of the Feast of Theophany and we encourage everyone to remember to contact Father to schedule the best time for him to come by for a home blessing and visit.

This morning we celebrate the Sunday of Zacchaeus, the last Sunday before the beginning of the Lenten Triodion period. Next Sunday we will begin with the Pre-Lenten Sundays as we pray for the beginning of Great Lent which comes with the Sunday of Forgiveness/Cheesefare Sunday on March 1 with the Fast for Great Lent beginning on Monday, March 2. As we look ahead to this season of preparation, let us pay close attention to the themes of this season as it prepares us to enter fully into preparing ourselves for the coming penitential season of Great Lent.
With that in mind, we ask that everyone make plans to join us for our Pre-Lenten Luncheon on Sunday, February 22. On that day we will not have Divine Liturgy here but rather will celebrate Divine Liturgy at 10 am with our fellow Orthodox Christians at St. Andrew’s Orthodox Church in Lyndora, and our Luncheon will be held at Vagabonds following Divine Liturgy. Be on the lookout for further information to be posted and we strongly urge everyone to join us on that day.
This morning we note that we will be returning to our practice of praying the Moleben of St. Panteleimon for the healing of our parishioners and family members who are sick and shut-in as well as to study the Holy Scriptures in February. Our next Moleben and Bible Study will be held on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:30 pm and we encourage everyone to attend. We ask that everyone read Jeremiah 18:1-11 as we begin a series of studies on the theme of “God as the Potter and man as the clay”(which comes from the Lenten service of the Great Canon of St. Andrew) as we begin our Pre-Lenten preparation in February.
Father Paisius has mentioned the new complete Orthodox Study Bible on several occasions and this is a wonderful tool for reading the Holy Scriptures as Orthodox Christians. Father has one extra copy available for $40 for anyone who would like to purchase this new edition which unlike the first editions contains the entire Old Testament from the Septuagint. Also available are several copies of the 2nd edition of our Ukrainian Orthodox Prayer Book for $25. Please see Father Paisius to purchase any of these items.
This week we continue to encourage everyone who is able to consider joining Father Paisius when he serves the service of Pro-Liturgy for our parishioners living at Sunnyview. This is a very important extension of the ministry of our parish to our members who are unable to join us but still are a very important part of our parish. We encourage those who are able to join Father for these services which are always served on the second Thursday morning of each month; the next one will be on Thursday, February 12 at 10:45 am. COME AND JOIN US!!
MAY THE LORD OUR GOD GRANT TO HIS SERVANTS, ALL THE FAITHFUL OF SS. PETER AND PAUL UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH AND ALL OUR VISITORS TODAY, PEACE, HEALTH AND SALVATION AND MAY HE SAFEGUARD AND KEEP US ALL FOR MANY YEARS.

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE FOLLOWING UPCOMING EVENTS
